Free From All Condemnation

gavel

We are free from condemnation—period. “THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1 AMP).

Condemnation is pronouncing a person guilty and sentencing that person to death. The judge has determined that the defendant committed certain violations of law and therefore is guilty. The gavel went down and we received the sentence of death with a guilty verdict.

Except Jesus stepped in and took the punishment upon Himself. The guilt and punishment met God’s requirements for justice. Only Jesus went to the cross with all the guilt and condemnation of the law and sin. He removed it from us.

For those who are “in Christ”—the believer, there is no more condemnation. There is no more punishment. It is all the finished work of Jesus. No one can ever pronounce you guilty. No one can ever bring you in to condemnation. You are totally free from all condemnation forever. You are free from all guilt and shame. Your sins have been punished forever.

For everyone “in Christ” are free from being judged for wrong. Jesus has freed us from condemnation.
