Free From the Law of Sin and Death

We are free from sin and death. “For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death” (Romans 8:2 AMP).

The unbeliever is in bondage to sin which Adam released into the earth. As descendants of Adam we were captive to the law of sin and death, “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Throughout the Old Covenant, Israel survived on the temporary covering of God’s mercy through the blood of bulls and goats.

But today we have a more excellent way. “But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). The Spirit (Holy Spirit) of life through the finished work of Jesus on the cross has set us free.

We are no longer in bondage to sin and its wages of death. Jesus has removed the law of sin and replaced it with the law of life for those who accept His plan. Death where is your sting (1 Corinthians 15:55). We are free to live the abundant life.
