“Jesus faced and conquered sin as a man so all mankind could forever be free from the power of sin… He faced every limitation and temptation to set you free from every limitation and temptation.” (Clint Byars) We are totally free from the power of sin. Is it possible to sin? Of course it is. But we don’t have to sin. There is no “The devil made me do it.” We have a new nature and we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21).
“Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe:” (Romans 3:22). It is the righteousness from God. This is the righteousness Jesus operated in as He was on the earth. It is a gift. It is a free gift to us that frees us from self-righteousness. The law is doing and grace is believing. The law is trying to meet the righteous standards of God by self-effort. Grace is just letting Jesus do it and resting in His finished work.
If you are a believer, you are free from all self-effort to please God.
