Love Is Still The Answer

How do you proclaim that you are a disciple of Jesus? One clue is that it is not by telling people they will go to hell if they don’t repent.

^“By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another” (John 13:35). This is something every disciple can do. It is not in how you dress, or how good a speaker you are or how well you know the Bible. You don’t have to memorize anything or have any money.

In a sense it is about behavior. It’s about how you treat one another. It begins in the family. It is how the community sees your church. Is it a place of love and safety? Are you accepted unconditionally? Do you accept others unconditionally or do you have some standards they must follow to be in your company?

God loved the world. Jesus says to love has He loved you. Love never fails. Shouting at someone fails. Berating and condemning fails. Love is how you show those around you that you are a follower of Jesus because that is what God is—love.
