A pastor friend of ours in Nairobi, Kenya—George Odero—recently shared about this scripture in 2 Peter 1:2: “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” I can’t say it any better so I’ll let George share these power-packed thoughts about this scripture.
“Many people want grace to help with their needs and peace to keep their hearts but they are seeking grace and peace through prayer, etc. They are asking God for more grace and peace. BUT this verse says that grace and peace are multiplied through the knowledge of God.
Wrong knowledge produces wrong faith because faith is based on what we know—knowledge. YOUR impression of God, who you think He is determines how you receive from Him. God is who He IS regardless of your perception of Him. He is who He IS regardless of your opinion.
Regardless of what God truly is like, you will not experience God any better than your opinion of Him.”
The better you know Him, the greater your receptivity of His Grace and Peace will be amplified—multiplied—settled securely in your thinking (mind) and in your heart truly transforming your life and leading you into greater freedom in His love.
