Make Room For More

Even in the midst of trouble King David prayed an interesting prayer in Psalm 4:1. “Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me…” David was certain of God’s encompassing love and grace and mercy for him. He was not without difficulties or troubles in his life, and it’s the same with you and I. Yes, there are times when we face difficulties and troubles. How do we handle that?

We need to understand that God’s abounding and overwhelming love and grace working in us even IN those times of trouble. David declared God’s righteousness during those times. He made it personal – my righteousness. Even before Jesus came, David knew his righteousness and right standing was in God and where he found security, peace, love and freedom. He trusted the God of his righteousness. God became BIGGER—enlarged—in his life during those times when he faced difficulties because of God’s mercy and grace operating in him.

No matter what you face today, trust God’s righteousness in Jesus is abounding in you so much so that you are enlarged in His goodness. See God’s grace freeing you to make room for more of His goodness in your life. It’s yours so receive it.
