Righteous By Grace

You are not justified or found just in God’s sight by keeping the law. “But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith” (Galatians 3:11). You were justified on the cross through the finished work of Jesus. In other words, He made you righteous or in right standing with God, not through anything you did but only through what Jesus did for you.

If you weren’t made righteous by the law, you can’t maintain your righteousness by keeping the law. Righteousness is a gift. You are the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). We aren’t saying the law isn’t good; it is, but we are no longer under it to maintain our justification. In the New Covenant, God has written the law of love on our hearts. We don’t have to do something to be righteous. It’s a gift. Anything we do comes as a fruit of the love of God within us.

We are always in right standing in God’s sight.
