Are You Resting?

I read a devotional the other day, and it really struck a chord in my heart, so I wanted to share some thoughts from Hebrews, chapter 4. There are several verses (verses 3 and 6). “³For we which have believed do enter into rest, as He said…⁶and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief.”  

Where are you today? Are you in the wilderness or the Promised Land? Israel had a difficult time believing that God had everything they would need in the Promised Land (see Deuteronomy 6:10-11). The spies had confirmed that it was a land flowing with milk and honey (God’s goodness), yet Israel struggled, not believing and trusting God. They wandered for 40 years in unbelief, unable to receive His abundant provisions.

If you’re stuck in the wilderness, it’s time to receive God’s total provision for you. It’s waiting for you. Enter in. It’s already yours. Each step you take in believing God’s Word and His goodness for you, enables you to REST in Jesus’ finished work. It’s yours for today, tomorrow, and beyond. It’s yours for the receiving when you believe the God who loves you. Receive His provisions today. Trust His love for you. Receive all that He has for you and enjoy His goodness.
