Do you sometimes have trouble resting? Everyone is susceptible to that scenario; but you can find rest and peace by following David’s instructions in Psalm 91:1-2.
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2 NIV
When you’re dwelling—abiding, staying—in the shelter of God’s love and grace, you’re safe and protected from the world’s forces. Everything may be going on around you, but you’re secure in His presence. His arms are wrapped around you. He’ll never leave or forsake you. He’s got you. Here is where you can rest. You don’t have to do anything. He’s done everything so you can be confident in Him as your protection, refuge, fortress, and provider. He is taking care of all that concerns you so you can trust Him because He is trustworthy. He won’t lead you anywhere else but into all that He has provided through His love and grace.
These are the thoughts that will allow you to rest in Him with peace and joy.
