How Do We Bear Much Fruit?June 21, 2015
I Will Tell of His Marvelous WorksJune 23, 2015
I trust you are quenching your thirst with more of God’s Word. Besides it renewing and refreshing you, being in the Word fills you with joy and peace. Look again at Isaiah 55, verse 12: “For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace…”
What happens when you drink deeply of the Word of God and allow it to soak in? The parched, dry areas of your life are nourished. You’re revitalized and renewed. That’s when the life-giving power of the Word fills you with joy. 1 Peter 1:8 calls it an inexpressible and glorious joy (NLT). And the more you partake, the more joy will fill your heart. His will bubble up inside of you and overflow throughout your day. The joy of His presence in you will be a continual fountain of life, one that never runs dry.
Then as you walk in His joy, you have the shalom peace of God—which means well-being, rest, happy, prosperous, welfare. It’s not just the absence of turmoil. It’s the in-filling presence and joy of God allowing you to rest in His goodness.
Be filled with His joy today and peace will direct your steps.
