Some say “God is sovereign and is in total control of what happens on earth. So why didn’t He do something about that kid who killed all those people? So anything good or bad that happens is God’s fault.” That’s just not true. God is not in control. That’s hard for many Christians to believe.
“You have made him [man] to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet” (Psalm 8:6 NKJV). God gave man dominion of the earth. What goes on bad is because of man.
“The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’S; But the earth He has given to the children of men” (Psalm 115:16 NKJV). God intervenes on man’s behalf when we give Him permission through prayer.
“We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one” (1 John 5:19 NIV2011). Jesus destroyed the works of the devil. But the devil is still in control over most of the earth. Jesus has given us the power and authority over the devil. He has given the light of the Gospel to change the world for good.
