His Mercy Holds You UpJune 26, 2015
When we talk about the gospel of grace, we don’t talk about hell. The Gospel is good news. Hell is bad news. We grace people don’t use hell as a sledge-hammer to bring people to Christ. It’s the goodness of God that leads to repentance. (Romans 2:4) But the reality is that scriptures talk about it in “glowing” terms.
David in the Psalms says, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” (Psalm 9:17).
I don’t have time in 200 words or less to debate what hell is or is not. God doesn’t send you there because of your sins. God loves sinners. God does not wish anyone to perish. God did not kill Adam. God so loved the world He sent Jesus to give us the choice. If you don’t want eternal life, then choose to perish.
I don’t believe in inclusionism or universalism and not sure about annihilationism. But there are plenty of scriptures where it’s called hell. We can debate but it has to be accepted as something that isn’t good.
You have to choose to go to Heaven and be with Jesus. You have to choose between life and death.
It’s simple. Just choose life. Choose Jesus.
