Let’s celebrate Dependence day. On July 4th we celebrated Independence Day. We are no longer bound to any country’s government. And spiritually, we are no longer under the thumb of sin and death. “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2).
Paul makes his dependence statement like this. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
While we are here on the earth, we still live in the fleshly body. But it’s not we who live but Christ in us. We now live by the faith of Jesus.
“For without me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). We can do nothing apart from God. We must solely depend on God for everything. We can’t get so self-minded that we think we can do it on our own. Let’s declare our dependence on Christ alone. It’s all grace. Celebrate Dependence day every day.
