Breaking Winter MentalityJuly 20, 2015
From the very beginning God has been super generous. “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat” (Genesis 2:16).
Look at David’s words. “I will sing unto the LORD, because He has dealt bountifully with me” (Psalm 13:6). In spite of all the trouble David faced, He was able to sing to the Lord because he could see that God was dealing him a great hand. Bounty is reward, or recompense, or benefit. God gave Job twice as much as he had before (Job 42:10).
Do you see God as always giving or always taking? Job saw God as “The LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away” (Job 1:21). Of course we see later that Job was wrong in his assessment of God. The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus came to give abundance (John 10:10).
God is a giver. He is not stingy. He was to give you the desires of your heart. God lavishes blessings on His kids.
“But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
