In preparing some materials for teaching my grandchildren Psalm 91, I had to pause at verse 15: “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.”
Notice the Lord’s response to those who find their habitation—residence of dwelling—in Him (verse 1). For those who are children of God, joint-heirs with Jesus, verses 9-16 are God’s promises of what He will do for His children. Verse 15 gives you encouragement that the Lord is aware of your needs, and is an ever-present help in time of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Have confidence that when you call or cry out to the Lord He hears you, and He’s there, with you. He won’t leave or abandon you. He is with you during times of distress, affliction, adversity, tribulation—that about covers what you can face in life doesn’t it? Even through any of all of that, He WILL deliver you.
Don’t be afraid to call on Him. He’s ready to show you His great love and grace. He’s your deliverer, and He’s available 24/7.
