I think most of us Bible believers all agree that God’s Word is pure. We may disagree on how to interpret the Bible but we know that God delivered the words He meant us to have and to live by.
“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times” (Psalm 12:6).
I like The Message Bible when it says, “God’s words are pure words, Pure silver words refined seven times In the fires of his word-kiln, Pure on earth as well as in heaven” (Psalm 12:6 MSG). His word purified in His “word-kiln.”
God is the only pure word. It’s not tainted with hidden agendas or half-truths. It is pure word. The word “pure” comes from a word meaning cleaning. It’s a cleansing word. Look how Paul uses this idea of God’s cleansing word.
“That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word” (Ephesians 5:26). The “it” here is the church of which we are all a part. Take in the pure cleansing word. It will wash your troubles down the drain.
