Looking again at chapter four of Mark, we find Jesus addressing the people and the religious leaders of the day, teaching in parables because they couldn’t yet understand the truth of the Kingdom of God in their midst. Yet, when He was alone with His disciples, He expounded all things to them (Mark 4:34). He further revealed and explained to them the truth of what He said. They would understand more after His resurrection, but I want you to catch the fact that Jesus expounded the truth of His Word to them.
Why is that important to you? Because you shouldn’t read your Bible thinking you can’t understand it. Or that because you haven’t gone to seminary or Bible school to learn that you just can’t understand what’s in the Bible. Jesus is the same today as then.
The Teacher is in you: “…and He will guide you into all truth for he shall not speak of himself…he will show you things to come (John 16:13, KJV). Who does the Holy Spirit speak of but Jesus and His finished work on the Cross for you.
Expect Him to speak to you and teach you as you open the living Word of God.
