By Grace I Am What I Am

Some people call it luck and some call it just being fortunate. But where you are in life is much more. Have you heard it said, “There but for the grace of God.”

The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me” (Psalm 16:6 NASB).

David looked at his life and said the lines or the place he stood was good. His heritage was beautiful. He came from the ancestral line that Jesus would come from.

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me” (1 Corinthians 5:10 NIV).

I have a great heritage. My parents and grandparents were from a long line of believers. Many don’t have that heritage nor are they living in countries where people have access to plenty. It’s not a matter of boasting, but a matter of thanksgiving. By grace I am what I am. Everyone has purpose through grace.
