Just a Thought for September 19September 19, 2015
In Psalm 17, David is facing great opposition from his enemies who dearly want him dead. He prays for protection and assistance. But at the end it just boils down to trusting in the Lord.
“As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake” (Psalm 17:15 NASB).
This reminds me of 1 John 3:2 where it says, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.”
David just wanted to see His face. David didn’t get to see Jesus until he died. But we see Jesus through His Word. “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man” (Hebrews 2:9).
We stand in His righteousness beholding the face of God.
