Just a Thought For September 11
September 11, 2015Just a Thought for September 12
September 12, 2015Our grandchildren can now proclaim they’ve seen the Atlanta and Pacific Oceans after their trip out west earlier this year. Last year I enjoyed watching them in Atlantic water while I sat on the beach, and that brought a memory to my mind when I was a youngster.
When you’re little and standing in the surf, some of the waves can come crashing at you to the point of knocking you over if you don’t know how to stand against them. Until I learned this trick, the waves overcame me every time.
I remember my Dad telling me not to face the waves directly but stand side-ways to them and I wouldn’t get knocked down. I tried it, and it worked! The force of the large waves coming ashore was unable to get me off-balance. I stood strong and tall without falling down into the surf.
When you’re facing the struggles and waves of life, get your balance in Jesus and His finished work for you. Focus your attention on your freedom in Him—Galatians 5:1—because He is your strength, your deliver, your peace, joy, salvation, healing, and righteousness (Ephesians 6:10). You are complete in Him and nothing can overcome you.
