What About The Admonitions?

We have our position in Christ. We are perfect, holy, redeemed, sanctified, justified, and everything else Jesus is. Ephesians 2:6 says, “And has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” That is our position. Paul explains that in his writing. Paul discusses all these good things in Ephesians, the first three chapters.

That’s grace, but what about Chapter Four and on? He says things like, “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation wherewith you are called” (Ephesians 4:1). Even though we have a position of grace, we also have admonitions listed in the Bible.

We have to walk out or work out our salvation in our daily life. How do we do that? We do so by the admonitions of the Word. In this verse for example, Paul says we are to walk worthy of our calling. We know we are already worthy in God’s sight through Jesus, but we need to walk that out for others to see each day. This is all to the glory of God.
