Words are important. Some people just say what they think regardless of the circumstances. Some say “I’m just telling it like it is.” For some words are like stones they throw at people. Grace people speak gracious words.
David’s words and thoughts concerned him. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14 NKJV).
When the heart is right, good things come from the mouth. It’s about what you believe about Jesus and about how Jesus responds to people. The more the Word is hidden away in the heart, the more the Word comes forth.
“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45 NKJV).
Speaking God’s words are always acceptable when spoken in love. A heart filled with love and grace will speak encouragement, health, and life to those around them.
