God will never be angry with you. I grew up thinking we have to tiptoe around so we wouldn’t make God angry. After all He carried a big stick. Don’t go to the movie theater; God will be mad at you. Don’t play with playing cards; God will get mad at you. Whatever the behavior the preacher wanted from us, we’d better do it or God would get angry with us. That is simply wrong.
“For this is like the days of Noah to Me; as I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I will not be angry with you or rebuke you” (Isaiah 54:9 AMP).
Just as God swore that He wouldn’t cover the earth ever again with water, He swore He’s never be angry with us.
How can He say that? That’s because all anger was taken out on Jesus on the Cross. All wrath, all punishment, all judgment, and all anger was appeased with the death of Jesus. All that we deserved, He took. He set us free from all of God’s anger—forever.
