Love endures. It lasts under every circumstance. It never gives up no matter what. This is the love God shows for us. He never tosses in the towel and says I give up; you’re on your own.
“Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7 NASB).
If you have had a child who has gone off on a path that leads to destruction, love endures the pain you see your child will go through. But you never give up on them. Love just keeps on loving.
Love doesn’t just put up with things; it kicks in a resolve to persevere patiently. It means to cast the care onto Jesus and let Him help uphold you during the trial. The nature of love is that it doesn’t quit loving no matter the situation or the problem.
Love even endures through times when nothing is going on. You think things should change, but they don’t. You continue in love. Love surprises people. When people think your situation should allow you to be grumpy, they don’t understand it when you continue to demonstrate God’s love in the situation. Love endures.
