God made an exciting covenant—agreement with promise–to Israel but we’ve been grafted in. Jeremiah 31:33 says, “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (ESV)
What God has promised and agreed to in His Word, He fulfills. He cannot lie and He doesn’t go back on what He’s promised. Okay, now that we understand that, how this applies to our hearts? There has to be something more than just head knowledge because you can know what you’re entitled to as a believer, but it may not be what you’re actually experiencing. Therein lies the rub, and it comes down to your heart. His Word must go from your ‘knower’ to your ‘believer’, from your head to your heart.
Truth that resides in your heart will be what you believe. Check what you believe. Is His truth and Word settled firm in your heart? If not, secure the Word of His covenant of reconciliation and restoration in your heart by continuing to feed on the goodness and grace of God for you. It’ll then be easy to believe from your heart.
