Just a Thought for November 28November 28, 2015
In the New Covenant, God said He would write His laws on our heart. He didn’t mean the Ten Commandments. I believe there are laws that supersede those Old Testament temporary laws. Here is one of those laws.
“So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty” (James 2:12 NKJV).
The law of liberty is the complete opposite of those Old Testament laws that enslave us. This is a law that sets us free. It’s the law of freedom. It makes us free because we know the truth. First we know The Truth—Jesus, and we know the truth of the Word.
Truth frees. “And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:32 NASB). Jesus gave us only one commandment and that is to love one another. Love is liberating. Liberty is the burden removing yoke destroying power of God. Does it liberate or does it put on burden around your neck? Judge it by the law of liberty. It was for freedom you were set free.
