To rejoice is to make a stridulous sound. Yes, I had to look that one up also. The dictionary says to make a “shrill creaking sound.” I still don’t know what that means. I would guess it just means to shout for joy.
“We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions” (Psalm 20:5 NKJV).
We rejoice in our salvation. “And crying out with a loud voice, saying, Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:10 NKJV)
What a marvelous thing our salvation. It is rescue from hell and given a ticket to heaven, but it’s so much more. It is prosperity, healing, restoration, justification, and much more. No wonder we rejoice in the Lord.
We are so elated we set up our banners showing our allegiance to the King of Kings. The word “set up banners” means to flaunt it or make it conspicuous. We are not ashamed of the Gospel because it is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16)
