What You Hear Each Morning

Easter Sunrise over Table Rock Lake

In our hectic everyday schedule, it’s hard at times to hear anything but the noises of life all around us. With families talking, playing and requesting something as soon as you wake up to the demands made via TV, radio or social media. All vie for your attention first thing each day. But what’s really important to hear as you face each day?

In Psalm 143, the Psalmist recalls the necessity of having God’s hesed operating in his life, right in the midst of his situations. Notice his request in verse 8: “Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in You;…” (NASB)

How do you hear God’s lovingkindness, His hesed grace in the morning? David meditated on God’s promises and His goodness continually, especially when he awoke. He reminded himself of God’s promises and the faithfulness of His Word.

You live with better promises than David because of Jesus, and you can do what David did each day by recalling and standing in the New Covenant of God’s Grace through Jesus. You’ll be strengthened with God’s overwhelming lovingkindness of grace that will take you through your days’ activities.
