Don’t Look At The Giants

Dont Look At The Giants

Have you had days when you were more prone to look at the giants around you—the situations you’re in that seem to have no way of changing? A TV character on Magnum PI experienced the same thing when attempting to get a door unlocked while two vicious dogs raced toward him. He kept telling himself ‘work the lock; don’t look at the dogs!’ He did what we so often do: he looked at the dogs but quickly got his attention where it needed to be and successfully opened the door before the dogs arrived.

I’ve had times when I discovered that the more I looked at the ‘giants’ of the land, the more inclined I was to stay in the mulleygrubs, be defeated and even depressed. What did Israel say when they faced the giants? “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we…There we saw the giants…and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight” (Numbers 13:31–33, Amplified).

Don’t look at the giants. Renew your mind in God’s goodness and refocus on what Jesus has done for you. Trust Him. Giants are no match for Him.
