Just a Thought for December 6
December 6, 2015Just a Thought for December 7
December 7, 2015Some friends I knew were in need. Their shelves were empty as well as their pantry. They were down to their last dime with only one box of oatmeal left—“grool” as the children called it. At the time I couldn’t do very much to help but I encouraged and prayed for them, believing for God’s abundant intervention to come quickly.
Then I had an idea, so I got to work. Soon extravagantly wrapped presents covered my living room. My family thought maybe we were celebrating Christmas early. When I shared that these weren’t for them, they knew I’d gone off the deep end, but they soon joined in helping.
The family definitely needed a miraculous intervention. They also needed HOPE, and that’s what I gave them several days later when I left boxes of wrapped presents on their porch. What was inside you ask? I’d secured many store gift cards for free meals; free haircuts, free groceries, and even free gas; and LOTS of scriptures to help them continue standing in faith for God’s provision and goodness…because after all, you and I have the Gospel of Hope that needs to be shared (Colossians 1:23). Will you share it with someone today?
