Who Defines You

Who Defines You

The world loves to be self-motivated, self-employed, introspective, and wants you to join countless folks who are defined by their actions and what they do. The responsibility lies with you they say. But you’re more than your job and the work you enjoy doing or not doing. And you’re more than the sum of your thoughts. You’re a child of God and He defines you by Jesus.

The more you become introspective, the more depressed you’ll be. Face it, there’s usually something about our personal appearance we don’t care for, but that’s outward and does change with time. It’s not the real you. It’s time to look beyond yourself for your identity.

When you begin to see your identity in Jesus as a beloved child of God, you’re perspective of life will change. You’ll have a heart that is light and joyful, one that is not filled with fear, worry, or depression. 1 John 4:17 assures you that “as He is, so are we [you] in this world.” The more you receive God’s love, acceptance, and joyful liberty, the more your identity will change and line up with how God sees you. That’s who defines you. You’re His child.
