Just A Thought for January 12January 12, 2016
When we put our faith in anything other than Jesus and His finished work, we’re watering down the Gospel and nullify its power. The Gospel is God’s good news of His love and grace drawing us to Him through Jesus. We’re no longer outcasts, unloved, or unworthy. All who come to Him are worthy because Jesus gave His life. We are no longer orphans because now we have a Daddy God who lives in us. We’re not bound by rules or laws that determine how faithful we are or must be. We are bound by His love—the love first demonstrated by our Lord (John 15:13). Our faith must rest in the Jesus and His finished work.
Here’s how Charles H. Spurgeon puts it: “My faith rests not in what I am, or shall be, or feel, or know, but in what Christ is, in what He has done and in what He is now doing for me.” Continue walking in what He is doing for you now.
