Just A Thought for January 17January 17, 2016
We talk about the finished work of Jesus a lot. It’s important because all that Jesus did while on earth is wrapped up in that saying. In the prayer of Jesus He told the Father, “I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do” (John 17:4). Everything that the Father wanted Jesus to do on this earth was accomplished. Everything God orchestrated from the time Jesus was born to the time He died on the cross was for a specific reason. We see it in where Jesus went. We see it in what Jesus said and did. It was all to glorify the father and for us to see Him in Jesus.
“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name” (John 20:31). Scripture was written that we might see Jesus and through that receive life—both eternal and abundant life for each day.
