Just A Thought For February 20February 20, 2016
You are a priest. “And hath made us… priests unto God and his Father” (Revelation 1:6). In the Old Testament the priest stood before God representing the people. He offered the sacrifices and administered the law. In the New Covenant, Jesus fulfilled the law and He offered the final sacrifice. Jesus changed the priesthood. We can still stand before God in intercession for the people. We can offer up the praise of thanksgiving before Him as we worship.
“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name” (Hebrews 13:15). And we can still offer a sacrifice but not a blood sacrifice. Our offering before God is praise out of a love and trust for what He has done for us. Like in communion we do this in remembrance of Jesus and gives thanks to the name above all names. We are priests before God through Jesus.
