Connecting Grace and Faith

connecting faith and grace 1

Believers can sometimes ask “What do I need to do to receive the blessings of God?” They amplify their question with “I have been praying, reading my Bible, going to church, and paying my tithes, yet I don’t seem to be able to get my prayers answered.” Does that sound familiar? What they do not fully understand is God’s blessings are not linked to their performance or lack of it. There’s a disconnect in understanding faith in conjunction with God’s grace. God operates by/in Grace. It is His unmerited, unearned, undeserved favor, and because it is, grace has nothing to do with you–your efforts to gain it. Ephesians 2:8 says you are saved through faith not works. Grace is God’s part. Faith is your positive response to what God has already provided by grace. It doesn’t have anything to do with your performance to gain it. Faith appropriates what God has already provided. Let your faith respond to His grace and you’ll see His blessings and provisions manifesting in your life.
