Don’t Stay In A Rut

Ruts in Road pic

If you’ve ever driven or walked on back roads in the country or in the mountains, I’m sure you’ve encountered some ‘ruts’ in the roads. They’re not easy to negotiate many times and can be a real nuisance. Recently when we were in the Smoky Mountains on a hike with holes, rocks, and ruts in it, I couldn’t help but wonder how many times in our spiritual walk we’re navigating in ruts in the roadway we’re on. Don’t allow the ruts—those usual encounters or the same ‘ole same ‘ole—to keep you under the circumstances. It’s time to navigate through the ruts and onto level ground where you experience God’s love, grace, and provision in greater ways. Psalm 11:84 (NASB) says “For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” Because you’re IN Christ, you’re upright in God’s eyes. You don’t have to stay in the rut of condemnation, guilt, unworthiness, or anything else that is negative. He gives you grace and good things to enjoy the road of life in Him!
