Who Is Jesus?

Jesus man

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” (Matthew 16:13). It’s interesting that Jesus asked what people are saying about the Son of Man. He specifically used that term instead of asking what people are saying about me. Jesus is using the term Son of Man for many reasons. Though He was the Son of God, He seldom used that term. The devil and demons used it. Men asked Him if He was, in accusatory fashion. I don’t think Jesus wanted to alienate everyone when He used that term. But He wanted to show He was fully man, born into this world as a baby, the seed of Abraham, and of Adam. He would be the second Adam who would undo all that the first Adam had done to humanity. The religious people had nothing good to say about Him. They finally succeeded in putting Him to death, trying desperately to silence His declaration of sonship. The question still rings out two millennia after Jesus asked the question. What are people saying about Jesus?
