Taste And See

Israel where thousands were fed

Have you been enticed by the restaurant smells when you’ve been shopping? Maybe you even gave into those smells and enjoyed not only the smells of a delicious meal but the presentation as well. It wasn’t however, until you tasted what was on your plate that your hunger was satisfied. The Psalmist encourages us in Psalm 34:8 (ESV) not only to taste God’s goodness but to see God’s goodness in our lives. “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” Many believers stop short because they don’t truly take time to taste God’s goodness. They know about His goodness but they don’t how to appropriate it in their lives. You don’t know what you don’t know. So, in order to know God’s goodness you have to spend time discovering what He has done for you. The more you know about just how much God loves you, how much Jesus provided for you, the hungrier you’ll become and you’ll want more. But it starts with a hunger. That hunger won’t be satisfied any other way than by tasting God’s goodness.
