What’s Your Hope Attached To?

rope of hope pic

Hope – a topic many Christians don’t fully understand because they’ve associated it with ‘wishful thinking’. I agree with Paul Ellis (Escape From Reality) that even for believers hope many times is just wishful thinking and not grounded in the truth of the Word. He states that ‘hope is a rope that links us to a truth not yet experienced’. The key is what is your hope linked to? Is it linked to what you’ve experienced before, something that wasn’t fulfilled or is it linked to the promise and power of God’s Word? Everyone has a hope rope, yet not everyone has it connected to truth. If your hope rope is hitched to past experiences and not the truth of the gospel of hope in Jesus, you’ll be disappointed and won’t receive the power of true Biblical hope. Check your rope connection. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” – Romans 15:13.
