Who Do You Say Jesus Is?

who is Jesus

“He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?” (Matthew 16:15). The other day we looked at the question of what are people saying about Jesus. But this verse makes it very personal. Who do you say I am? Every single person who has ever been born has to answer this question. CS Lewis asked the question is Jesus “Lunatic, Liar, or Lord?” Peter answered Jesus, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16). Peter was basically saying that Jesus was the long-expected Messiah. That was a distinctly Jewish perspective. After the cross, we have a different perspective. He is still the Christ. However, He is so much more to us. Most people see Him as Savior, Lord, Redeemer, Jesus, Life, and truth. We can’t begin to describe all He is to us. His name is above all names. He is God incarnate and sits at the right hand of the Father ever watchful over us. Who do you say Jesus is?
