The Source Of Revelation

North GA Sunrise-1

When Jesus asked His disciples who they thought He was, Peter responded with “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus made an important statement about this when He said “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 16:17 NKJV). It’s important in many ways but one thing it shows is the source of revelation. You can get head knowledge from reading and observing. The heart has basically two channels of input. One is the soul and one is the spirit. Revelation comes through the regenerated spirit which is now alive to the things of God. We can read the Word, and we should, but revelation about what it means to us is from God. The Holy Spirit is teaching us all things. Peter didn’t know Jesus as Christ through observation, even though that helped. He knew Jesus as Christ through the Spirit from God the Father. That’s how all of us come to know Jesus in a personal way. Seek to know God by allowing God to speak to you in the Spirit.
