Rewriting The Pictures Of Your Heart

Rewriting Pictures on Your Heart

Sometimes you just can’t get a particular picture or experience out of your mind. Maybe it was an experience you had growing up, or a situation with someone close. Engraved in your mind is that incident and with it comes a list of emotions and thoughts you had at the time. It’s time to rewrite those pictures on your heart, especially if they’ve been negative. The key is in changing your thinking because the more you dwell on the negatives the more they’ll continue to influence and persuade your heart. You’ll be caught in the loop of continuing to think that way. Regardless of what the picture shows you, it’s time to renew your thinking. Don’t dwell on those situations, those pictures. Instead fill yourself up with what God thinks about you. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Be more convinced of what God says is true so that nothing else can sway you. As Clint Byars says, you can rewrite the pictures by meditating on what is true, recreating the self-image in your mind and heart to what matches what Jesus paid for.
