Flowing With God’s Fullness

Smoky Mountains Waterfall

An earthen dam corrals water to contain it. That’s helpful, especially in areas where water needs to be saved. However, if the ‘container’ doesn’t have an inflow or outflow, then the contained water becomes stagnant. There’s no life flowing into it or out of it. You don’t want to swim in stagnant water, and you certainly don’t want to drink stagnant water. This picture reminds us that our lives should be flowing with God’s love. If we don’t allow fresh water from the Lord to enter our hearts, how can we be able to give that out to others? John 7:38 (NLT) says “Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'” The song by MercyMe entitled “Let The River Flow” is a personal declaration for allowing God in His fullness to flow through you to others. You’re not only the prism of God’s love and grace, but of His fullness as He pours Himself through you. Let His love flow through you today.
