Who Let The Dogs Out?February 8, 2017
“Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:12 (KJV). We are perfect, in Christ. That’s how the Father sees us. That’s positional perfection. That’s our position in the kingdom. Paul knows that but here in this verse he is talking about apprehending perfection as we grow in the things of the Lord. I like the God’s Word version where it says, “It’s not that I’ve already reached the goal or have already completed the course. But I run to win that which Jesus Christ has already won for me” (Philippians 3:12 GW). We haven’t reached the goal yet. We are to still pursue or follow after the things for which Jesus has done for us. He chose us and redeemed us for His good pleasure and is working out good in and through us. This continues until we go home. “Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God” (Colossians 4:12 NKJV).
