Here in the South during the winter you experience the rising and falling of the temperatures along with weather conditions. Fortunately we don’t get much snow. Right now as I write this, it’s 54 degrees outside and cloudy. We had rain come through earlier today. This morning was chillier and tomorrow morning will be in the low 40’s. Yep, it’ definitely sweater/jacket weather. I’m not going by the groundhog’s forecast, but I do think we’re headed for an early Spring. I see the signs in my backyard. Yep, the grass is getting greener and starting to grow again. Phooey. That means I’ll have to be mowing the yards soon, but I am thankful for the 3-month break I’ve had in not having to mow. It won’t be long until we see new green growth on the currently bare trees. Bulbs will be bursting out of their winter hiatus and soon baby robins will appear in their nests. The earth is ready to wake from its sleep. The trees are ready to let the sap of life flow through their new leaves. But still right now, they’re being prepared. But when it’s time, new growth, new life will burst forth all around us. It reminds me of the Lord’s desire for everyone to know His amazing love and grace. Many are dead, but new life is just around the corner. Romans 10:14-15, NLT, puts it like this: “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” It’s not quite Spring, but lives are being prepared and open to receive His love. Be one who encourages those who are searching so they can truly enjoy a new Spring with new life from the inside out.
