Just A Thought For April 21
April 21, 2017Just A Thought For April 22
April 22, 2017Second Corinthians 10:5 (KJV) gives a practical way to deal with our thoughts but are we following what it says? “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” We’ve said it before that many believers don’t know the authority and power they have through Jesus. They don’t recognize they control what thoughts they keep in their minds and hearts. Matthew 18:18 also gives guidance in allowing or forbidding things in your life. The more you mull over the negatives, the more you’re giving them place which leads you further down the pathway to fear, depression, or anxiety. I like how Christy Kyser Mitropoulos says it: “When thoughts, feelings, emotions, or beliefs present themselves to you, do you immediately ask yourself, ‘In light of the finished work of Jesus, is this something I should allow in my life?’” You have the ability to control what you allow or forbid to stay and develop in your thoughts and words. Walk in the overcoming power of God’s grace in you and release His Word into your situations.
