“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Psalm 34:8 NKJV). How many times have you told your kids to eat something they have never eaten before and they don’t want to eat it? You tell them just try it. They continue to refuse. Just take one bite you’ll like it. It’s interesting that the Psalmist uses the word taste in a metaphor of giving God a try. Taste is a powerful sense. It make life enjoyable to taste good food. Taste and see. Give God a second look and find out how good He is. Just take a taste. You might have grown up in a home that didn’t have good parents. Maybe you are not working a job you like. Bad seems to surround you. You think even God is treating you badly. You really haven’t tasted of the good God. However, when you have tasted, you will be like Peter who said, “2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good” (1 Peter 2:3 NIV2011). Is that your witness—you have tasted that the Lord is good? Because He is good.
