We Are Only Branches

^“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5 NKJV). Jesus is the vine. He is the root. He is the tree. We are branches on the tree. I see two things in this verse. First, if you are in Jesus the vine, you will bear much fruit. When you are born again, you became part of the tree of Jesus. He’s your family tree. He is the nutrients to your life. You will bear fruit because of Him. Second, apart from Him you can’t bear any fruit.

Remember as Paul say in Romans 11:18 “remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.” You can’t bear fruit without Him, but in Him, you will bear fruit. If Jesus is the vine, you can’t help bearing fruit. He isn’t a dead tree. He’s a live tree. He is the source of any fruit we might display. The fruit comes through the vine or tree. It comes from within you. The image of Jesus will be as fruit on your branches.
