Just A Thought For June 1June 1, 2017
When you focus on a life style of God’s grace, you’ll find yourself wanting to do good works, and it isn’t because you have to out of obligation or a requirement for your salvation. It’s because God’s love propels you to want to do good works. That what Paul talks about in Colossians 3:23 NASB. “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.” When you and I strive to do what we feel will make us more spiritual, we fail in feeling more spiritual. Quite the opposite is true. Doing more works to feel more spiritual keeps you on the hamster wheel, always doing but never feeling satisfied.
When you operate in God’s covenant of grace, you’ll find that you’re more eager to do things because you want to not because you feel obligated. God’s grace propels you to give in love, and you do that through various means including good works that will bless people. Renew your thinking about doing, and do whatever you do heartily, cheerfully, and full of God’s love and grace. It’s an outpouring of love to the Lord.
