Let There Be Light!

Goodness, here we are in another month. Even more amazing I think is that nearly half a year is passing by us. Wow!

I don’t know about your month so far, but ours has been extremely busy and many times filled with anticipation, frustration, exhaustion, but also provision with much thanksgiving.
One such time was in getting a new ceiling-mounted LED light for our kitchen. The light we had before only ran on 2 bulbs and I continually had to turn on other lights to see better. When we finished getting everything installed, I stepped off the ladder. Jack said “turn it on” so I did. Light was EVERYWHERE, and I cried.  With our new kitchen lighting, it’s literally the difference between day and night! Everything is SO MUCH BRIGHTER now!

This morning when I came into the kitchen and turned on the light the thought came to me — “you don’t know just how dark it has been until you have new light”.  As I meditated on that thought, I immediately saw a spiritual correlation. As believers we continue to grow in our knowledge of the Word and of our New Covenant benefits. And when you receive a greater understanding and revelation of God’s love and grace for you, it’s just like someone turning on a BIG BRIGHT LIGHT. The more you understand your new identity in Jesus as His beloved child, the more you see how BIG God’s Love is for you, and how His abundant Grace overflows in your life. I like how Paul says it in 2 Corinthians 3:18, NIV: “So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” The light is around you and in you. The more you receive and walk in it, the more it changes you. Let the glory of God’s Light bring more brightness to your day.  LET THERE BE LIGHT!
